Abstract
425,584. Knitted fabrics. LIEBERKNECHT, P., Einsiedel, near Chemnitz, Germany. Nov 5, 1934, No. 31663. Convention date, March 13. Addition to 401,922. [Class 74 (ii)] Relates to improvements in the production of selvedged blanks for stockings. The auxiliary pieces d, d<1> described in the parent Specification are worked, at the place where needed, simultaneously with the production of, say, the last fifty courses of a stocking leg a. Separating courses e, e<1> somewhat shorter than the heel portions are wide are then worked from both edges a, a<1> of the leg after which knitting proceeds on the foot b<1>. The courses e, e<1> may also extend across the pieces d, d<1>. The blank is then removed to another machine which works the heel pieces g, g<1>. After completion of the heels, one of the courses in the portion b<1> is placed on the linking-machine. The separating courses e, e<1> are then destroyed, the inner edges of the heels are united on the linking-machine with the side portions of the foot and the pieces d, d<1> are removed.
