[Class 141.] The heel portions of stocking &c. blanks are widened by transferring marginal loops so as to leave eyelet holes at a distance of one or two loops from the selvages a, band a<1>, bl, by which subsequent seaming is facilitated. The corresponding narrowed portion may be similarly formed along the lines c, d and cl, d<1>, or narrowing lines A, B may be inclined to the length of the blank, as shown, or otherwise.
