Abstract

404,418. Knitting. WILLIS, F., 8, Curzon Avenue, Birstall, and RAVEN & CO., Ltd., W., Wheat Street, both in Leicester. Oct. 8, 1932, No. 28051. [Class 74 (ii).] An expansible top or other portion of a fullfashioned stocking is obtained by transferring alternate loops 2 in alternate courses to the adjacent needles. Openings 8 and double loops 6 are thus formed, the double loops 6 alternating with single loops 5 in the wales 3. As shown, an expansible welt or top A is followed by a few courses C of plain loops and a garter band B. The fabric is of uniform appearance and tends to prevent laddering.
