Abstract

[Class 39 (iii)] [See also Group XXXVI] A convector heater unit for attachment to similar units comprises a substantially planar heating ele. ment H, wound with heating wire, vertically mounted between the front and back walls B, A, of a trough. shaped casing provided with openings at its bottom and top, the air streaming up. wardly over the heater being deflected forwardly from the unit by a triangular-sectioned baffle E. Maximum dimensions of the unit con. sist of a depth tapering from one to two inches, a height of eight inches and a width of 1 foot. The heating element comprises a flat metal sheet, such as of zinc, covered with layers of asbestos paper, on to which is wound a coil of copper wire of sufficient length to give about a 60-watt element at 100 volts. The heater may be attached to wall hooks by saddle pieces I or it may be mounted within a wall recess. The walls may be of metal or the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite."
