Abstract

285,599. Measurement, Ltd., Thorp, F., and Melville, G. Dec. 8, 1926. Electric stoves.-In a device comprising hea.ting elements a carried by by a hinged frame b mounted in front of a reflector c, the elements are rod-shaped and fit at one end into spring-supported insulated collars i. At the other end the elements engage spring contacts g. The reflector is of sheet metal formed with a number of parabolic corrugations. A backing plate f co-operates with the reflector to form passages for heating air, a cowl being arranged at the top to deliver the heated air into the room. Provision may also be made to allow air to pass up the rear side of the plate f to a chimney for ventilation purposes. The heating elements comprise non-metallic resistor rods or insulating rods wound with metal resistances. Clips e retain the frame in position. Switches m, n vary the heating effect. Boiling and grilling devices may be similarly constructed.
