Abstract
424,324. Ferry - boats ; landing- gangways. SOC. ANON. DES ANCIENS CHANTIERS DUBIGEON, 4, Rue de TÚhÚran, Paris. July 27, 1934, Nos. 21986 and 21987. Convention dates, Sept. 26, 1933 and Dec. 6, 1933. [Classes 113 (i) and 113 (ii)] To facilitate the embarking and disembarking of vehicles on and from a ferry-boat from and to an inclined slipway the ferry-boat is constructed with its deck for the whole or part of its length from bow to stern with a slope substantially the same as that of the slipway. The ferry-boat is provided with ballast-tanks at bow and stern, so that by trimming the boat may be adjusted to different slipway slopes. The boat is further provided at its sides with a series of panels 1 which serve as landing gangways. These panels are normally held in the vertical position by fingers 6 which are activated by the linkage shown from oil-cylinders 9, which are controlled from a central station. When the panels are lowered they are freed from the fingers to allow pitching or rolling.
