Abstract

A lubricant suitable for internal-combustion engines consists of a lubricating oil in which is dispersed an organic compound of chromium. About 1 per cent of an oil-soluble compound, e.g. chromium oleate, in a vegetable, mineral, or blended oil may be used. Specifications 295,230, [Class 91], and 398,222 describing lubricating oils containing organic compounds of tin and of lead are referred to.
