Abstract

Petrol or other motor spirit contains an upper-cylinder lubricant consisting essentially of light spindle oil, i.e. mineral oil of viscosity 0.21-0.52 poise, and oil of myrbane. Sperm oil or vegetable oil such as olive or arachis oil, and colouring matter such as Sudan yellow, may also be added to the lubricant.
