Abstract

A lubricating composition suitable for use in an internal combustion engine comprises petroleum lubricating oil and 3.5-14.25 grams/gallon of a mixture of 2 parts by volume of acetone and 1 part by volume of commercial castor oil. The mixture of acetone and castor oil may also be added to a petroleum spirit or diesel oil in the same proportion and the composition thus produced may be used as a fuel for an internal combustion engine. When so used, the combustion will result in the production of a lubricating film on moving parts of the engine.
