[Class 123 (i)] [See also Group XIX] In a liquid-level indicator, a float L actuates a piston M in a cylinder I and the movements are transmitted through air in the pipe N to a liquid manometer C, G having a scale indicating quantities. The movements of the liquid in the tube C are transmitted through the air above to a piston A which thereby prevents oscillation of the liquid in the tube. The tank may be provided with a baffle plate to minimize surging of the liquid.
