Abstract

586,672. Liqund-level indicators. JAEGERAVIATION. Dec. 17, 1940, No. 17801. Convention date, May 15. [Class 123 (i)] In a liquid-level indicator of the type in which the indications are dependent on the pressure of a gas escaping from the end of a tube dipping into the liquid, the source of the gas is liquefied propane in a vessel 1. The vapour passes through a pressure reducer 3 and adjustable orifice 5 to the dip tube 7 which is connected to a gauge 8. The lower end of the tube 7 is surrounded by a bell 10 having an outlet 11 of the same order of size as the tube 7, whereby, if the tank 9 is inverted liquid is prevented from entering the tube 7.
