Piston-and-spring, elastic - diaphragm, and liquid-level pressure gauges. - The liquid-level in a tank A is indicated through a spring- piston B in a liquid container b connected to a distant gauge E by a micrometer screw L secured to a plunger K, the screw being turned so as to bring the liquid-level in the gauge to a fixed level X. In a modification the piston and its container are replaced by a flexible chamber. In another apparatus, the mercury level in a vessel a, Fig. 2, is indicated by the displacement of another liquid from a bell d connected to the gauge.
