Hydrostatic apparatus.-In a hydrostatic weighing or other pressure measuring device of the type comprising a chamber B filled with liquid and closed by a flexible diaphragm to which the force exerted by a load is transmitted by a plunger supported on the diaphragm, and in which a measurement is obtained by a pressure gauge G in communication with the chamber, the area of the plunger H in contact with the diaphragm C is substantially equal to the effective area of diaphragm so that the clearance between the plunger and the surrounding wall of the securing ring E is substantially equal to the thickness of the diaphragm.
