Abstract
403,687. Liquid-level pressure gauges. BOULTON, P. R., 58, Kewferry Road, Northwood, Middlesex. June 17, 1932, No. 17237. [Class 106 (ii).] Slight variations in the height of the liquid column in the indicating leg 2 of a manometer are rendered easily observable by arranging a source of light 4 and a masking plate 5 with an elongated aperture 6 so as to throw on a screen 7 a magnified image of the upper portions of the liquid column. A system of lenses may be arranged on opposite sides of the masking plate and indicating leg so as to give a correctly proportional image of the column. The manometer may be used to indicate the pressure drop in a superheater or the liquid level in a vessel, for example, the water level in a water tube boiler.
