[Class 100 (ii).] In a machine for casting stereotype plates or backing electrotypes of the kind in which a control device is provided for interrupting the flow of metal from the pot and separating the cast plate, the control device is constructed in the form of a twoway cock a which in one position permits flow of metal to the mould, and in the other position enables the riser i which remains in the cock to be ejected. The ejection of the riser is effected by means of a device g actuated manually or mechanically through a lever h, the riser i being delivered to a box k mounted on the core.
