Moulds.-A mould, for casting printers' furniture f, Fig. 11, comprises a grooved base-plate a, Figs. 8 and 9, co-operating with a cover plate c having matrices c<1> projecting into the grooves a' and means for displacing the two plates when the metal, poured into the grooves, has set. The cover c engages under a flanged member b of the base a and is secured thereto by clamps a<4>. The funnels c<3> for the molten metal are preferably arranged so that the mould is filled while in an inclined position, Fig. 9. After casting the clamps a<4> are released and a lever a<3>, pivoted to the base, is operated to engage projections c<4> on the cover and slide it longitudinally from the base. Any of the grooves a<1> may be stopped off, for casting a short bar, by a rectangular block e, Fig. 8, having a recess to fit the corresponding matrix c<1>.
