Abstract

Fats, lipoids and albumen are reintroduced into textile materials (wool) from which they have been removed by treatment with emulsions produced with the aid of substances having the general formula R--X--R<1>--SO3.Me, where R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having at least 11 carbon atoms, R<1> in any substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical, X is one of the groups --CH2O--, --COO--, --CO NH--, --CONR<1>-- and Me is a metal or NH4. Substances of the formula R--O--SO3--Me may also be used wherein R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with at least 12 carbon atoms. According to examples emulsions are made employing as emulsifying substances the sodium salt of oleic acid-methyl-taurine, the sodium salt of the sulphuric acid ester of stearic alcohol, the oleic acid ester of sodium oxyethane sulphate.ALSO:Fats and other substances, e.g. lipoids and albumen are reintroduced into textiles (wool) from which they have been removed so as to restore the textile to its primary condition by subjection to a degree of vacuum sufficient to dehydrate and exhaust air from the capillaries and subsequently treating with an emulsion or dispersion of the fat and other substances. The emulsions are produced by the use of substances of the formula R--X--R<1>--SO3.Me where R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having at least 11 carbon atoms, R<1> is any substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical, X is one of the groups --CH<2>O--, --COO--, --CONHO, CONR<1>, and Me is a metal or NH4. Substances of the formula R--O--SO3--Me may also be used wherein R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with at least 12 carbon atoms. The emulsifying substances are intended to remain with the fats or on the fibre. According to examples emulsions are made for use after the vacuum treatment with the sodium salt of oleic acid-methyl-taurine, the sodium salt of the sulphuric acid ester of stearic alcohol, the oleic acid ester of sodium oxyethane sulphate.
