415,946. Tube joints. BURTON, S. F., 49, Sandon Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, and LOWE, A., Haden Cross, Halesowen, Old Hill, Staffordshire. Jan. 23, 1934, No. 2377. [Class 99 (i).] In a coupling device for tubular scaffolding a longitudinally divided pin engages within the ends of abutting tubes and has its sections 10, 11 forced apart to grip the tubes by a bolt 23, the bolt-head 25 or the nut 27 or both having a conical face engaging part-conical recesses in the pin sections. The bolt is prevented from rotating by lugs 30 engaging recesses 31. The sections are connected by two pins or screws 15 which permit limited relative movement of the sections. Each pin may have a part 17 of reduced diameter riveted into the section 11 and a head 21 located in a recess in the section 10. The pin sections have bosses 32 against which the tube ends abut, and their adjacent faces 12, 13 may diverge slightly from the centre outwards.
