Abstract

242,094. Bromford, Ltd., and Reimann, J. Nov. 26, 1924. Joints formed by welding.-In a joint for wrought metal tubes 1, 3, the end of the tube 1 is enlarged to form a socket 2 and a shoulder 10 is pro. vided on the other tube 3 by enlarging or reducing its end so as to form a spigot 4 adapted to fit the socket 2, after which the gap 7, constituted by the outer end of the socket and the shoulder 10, is filled with welding metal 8 adapted to unite the two tubes. The end of the spigot 4 is preferably arranged to abut the shoulder 6 formed by the enlargement of the tube 1.
