Joints formed by welding.-In a welded joint for wrought metal tubes 2, 3, the end of the tube 2 is enlarged to form a socket 1 in which the end of the tube 3 will fit without alteration to its external diameter, and welding metal 6 is applied in the corner constituted between the end 4 of the socket 1 and the side of the tube 3. The end of the socket 1 is thickened by a band of metal or by folding the end 7 tightly back upon itself, while the end of the tube 3, which enters the socket 1, may be shaped so that it fits closely against the shoulder 5 constituted at the bottom of the socket.
