287,804. Soc. Anon. d'Escaut et Meuse. Sept. 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Joints formed by welding and the like.-Two tubes are connected by providing the end of one tube with a helical collar 1 adapted to engage a helical groove 4 on a collar 3 on the other tube, fluid-tightness being secured by a welded or soldered joint 6. The collar 3 is provided with an aperture 5 for the insertion of the collar 1, while packing such as rubber, lead, putty, &c. may be provided within the groove 4.
