Abstract

290,830. Bocquet, W. M. May 19, 1927. Sleeve joints held by cement and the like. - In a pipe joint wherein the adjacent ends of the two pipes are formed with interengaging parts as shown, fluidtightness is secured by cement or other jointing compound which is inserted between the pipe ends and an external sleeve. The sleeve may be formed with a tapered bore to facilitate the insertion, of the cement, or it may be provided with recesses for the retention therof. The Provisional Specification describes modifications without the use of jointing material and in which the external sleeve is shrunk or compressed onto the ends of the pipes or is made in the form of a clip and tightened in place.
