E., Senlac, Norman Road, Sale, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Feb. 28, 1933, No. 17803 /34. Divided out of 415,710. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i).] A Coolidge tube having a metal envelope or head portion in which is an annular X-ray window has an anti-cathode which has its face inclined to the tube axis and which is rotatable so that the direction of the beam is adjustable. The invention is described with reference to a dismountable tube having a rotatable anticathode mounting as described in Specification 415,711, a cathode mounting as described in Specification 415,712, a tube mounting as described in Specification 415,710, a rotatable X-ray shield as described in Specification 415,723 and an X-ray window as described in Specification 415,724. In a modification, the anti-cathode may be rotated through multiplying gearing by movements of a flexible envelope portion of the tube, such as a bellows.
