[Class 99 (i).] A pipe is connected to a steam receiver or other container by welding it at 3 around the outside of the hole through which it projects, fitting over the end of the pipe a heavy washer 4 shaped to fit the wall of the container, and expanding the end of the pipe only into a recess 5 in the washer.
