A., 12, Holmesdale Avenue, East Sheen, all in London. Jan. 6, 1933, No. 465. Addition to 409,748. [Class 81 (ii).] In a bloodless castrator or other gripping, crushing, or cutting hand-tool according to the parent Specification wherein jaws sliding between side plates are actuated through rotatable elements mounted on stationary pivots and each operatively engaged on one side thereof with a respective jaw, and on the other side with a pivoted handle, a cam and slot form of operative engagement is provided between each jaw and its associated rotatable element. The construction is the same as that described in the parent Specification, except that each jaw a is slotted at c to engage a cam d carried by a rotatable element e pivotally connected to a handle h. In a modification, Fig. 5, each rotatable element x has a recess w in which a pin v extending from the cam u is movably engaged. The cams u and the corresponding slots t in the jaws may be substantially spherical.
