Abstract

423,436. Vices. MUTER, A. J., 74, Crescent Road, Wood Green, TYDEMAN, C., 3, Chichester Rents, Chancery Lane, and WILLIAMSON, G. A., 12, Holmesdale Avenue, East Sheen, all in London. July 29, 1933, No. 21392. [Class 61 (ii)] A gripping-device comprises a body formed in two parts each providing a side wall 2 and a handle part 5 ; the spaced side walls 2 are recessed to provide guides for the bases 3 of gripping jaws 4 which are actuated by a right and left screw 8 retained against axial movement by a pin 12 engaging an annular groove 11 or by an annular collar engaging a slot in the body. The two body parts are secured together by bolts or rivets, the handle 5 enabling the device to be used as a hand vice or it may be clamped in a socket 17 on a bracket 16 screwed to a bench.
