Abstract

412,482. Intermittent toothed gearing. LANDIS & GYR, Ltd., Elgee Works, Victoria Road, North Acton, London, and WHITBY, E., Oakwood, Pinner Hill, Middlesex. Nov. 20, 1933, No. 32263. [Class 80 (i).] A variable intermittent rotation is imparted to a driven member or shaft 15 by pins 5 variably arranged in two concentric circles of holes in a driving disc 2 so as to actuate intermittently two starwheels 6, 7 acting at different velocity ratios on the sun wheels 9, 13 of a differential gear, the planet wheel 14 of which transmits the drive to the shaft 15. As applied to a coinfreed prepayment meter with a basic charge, each actuation of the star-wheel 6 by one of the outer row of pins may correspond to a payment of 10 centimes, while each actuation of the star-wheel 7 by one of the inner row may correspond to a franc, the wheel 7 being connected to the sun 13 through the 10: 1 multiplying gear 10.
