Abstract

411,438. Pulleys. SIMM, G. E., 104, Greystones Road, Eccleshall, Sheffield. Dec. 5, 1932, No. 34352. [Class 80 (i).] A guide-roller for ropes or belts comprises a spindle A, one or more barrels or rings E, held between dished plates C carried by flanged bushes B rotatable on the spindle, bossed plates G secured to the plates C to form annular lubricant chambers H around the bushes, and holes I in the bushes for passing lubricant from the chambers to the spindle. The barrels E and plates C may be locked together by co-operating projections and recesses. In a modification, a multi-groove roller is formed by assembling a number of barrels E separated by plates C arranged with their hollows opposed, and spaced apart by the flanges on the bushes B, which are secured against axial movement by pins passing through the spindle. The periphery of the barrel E may be concave. According to the Provisional Specification, the bossed plates G may be omitted and, the spindle lubricated directly through the holes I.
