Abstract
566,280. Chains. BARRATT, F. W. July 7, 1942, No. 4176/44. Divided out of 566,081, [Group XXXI]. [Class 24] [Also in Group XXXI] Chains or endless-tracks for vehicles comprise roller-bearing units linked together, the outer races 15 of the bearings forming rollers engaging the ground and the inner races 11 being connected together by links 16 pivoted eccentrically thereto at 17. The chain or track may be built up with single roller units 15 and double links 16 as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, or with double rollers 15 and single links 16 as shown in Fig. 6. The pivot pins 17 may be offset from the centres of the inner races 11, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, or they may be arranged along a diameter of each inner race as in the construction shown in Fig. 6. The vehicle (not shown) is provided with a member or runway resting on the inner surface of the track or chain.
