502,984. Handling vehicles in parks and garages. AUGER, H. Nov. 19, 1937, No. 31947. [Class 78 (iv)] Means for moving cars in garages or car parks comprise longitudinal and transverse ranks A, B respectively, each rank comprising two spaced conveyers which are straddled by the car wheels. The cars are transferred between the ranks without change of orientation and antifriction means such as rollers 3 are provided on the conveyers on which the wheels rest. At the points of intersection of the ranks either the longitudinal or the transverse conveyer is interrupted, the arrangement being such that' at the intersection at least one wheel is located on either conveyer. The ranks are set in motion in turn, and the conveyers may comprise transverse treads carried by endless side chains running in tracks or they may be of the " watking-beam " type.
