Abstract

411,384. Platen machines. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK AKT. - GES. HEIDELBERG, Heidelberg, Germany. Dec. 6, 1933, No. 34286. Convention date, Nov. 20. [Classes 100 (i) and 100 (ii).] In a sheet-feeding and delivery mechanism for platen presses of the kind in which rotary or oscillating arms are mounted on a platen 2 and are provided with grippers 4, 5 which take sheets from a pile 8 and deliver them to a pile 9 after printing, the grippers are constructed with closing springs 23 at their ends remote from the axis 6 of oscillation of their carrying arms 11. The movable members 41 of the grippers are opened in known manner by a cam 10 acting on levers 12, 13 connected by links 18 19, to arms 20 on the shaft 22 of the movable gripper members 4<1>, and the springs 17 which close the grippers when permitted by the cam 10 are assisted by the springs 23. As shown in Fig. 4, the movable gripper bar 41 is formed of wedge shape in order to prevent it from twisting. Specification 388,234 is referred to.
