408,902. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Singer Manufacturing Co. ; Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Nov. 11, 1933, No. 31471. [Class 112.] A presser-foot for a zig-zag stitching attachment such as described in Specification 397,043, has a shank 23 secured to the slide bar of the attachment. The shank 23 has a sole plate 25 pivoted at 26 so that it can tilt. The sole plate 25 has a groove 28 to receive the pivot pin 26. The plate 25 also has a rectangular opening 31 at one side of the elongated needle aperture 32, in which is fitted an auxiliary pressermember 33 which extends below the lower face of the sole plate. The member 33 returned by a plate 35 and is urged downwardly by a U-shaped spring 38. The foot is particularly useful for felling.
