419,040. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Singer Manufacturing Co. ; Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A.) May 25, 1934, No. 15612. [Class 112.] A flat button sewing- machine comprises a buttonholder 31 which is pivoted to a laterally sliding bar 29 on the presser foot 28. The button-holder has recesses 311 to receive buttons of different sizes and it is turned to place the requisite recess under the needle. A spring 36 locks it in this position. When sewing four-hole buttons, the bar 29 is placed in the position shown in broken lines for sewing through the first two holes and in the position shown in full lines for the remaining holes. The bar 29 is locked by a spring 38. Specifications 397,043 is referred to.
