Abstract

408,318. Windscreen-cleaners. LUCAS, Ltd., J., LUCAS, O., and TURNER, E, O., Great King Street, Birmingham. Oct. 7, 1932, No. 27926. [Class 138 (i).] An endless chain or equivalent member is adapted to receive motion from a motor whereby oscillatory movement is imparted to one or more arms carrying windscreen-wipers. In the construction shown, a chain i is mounted on sprockets f, g, its ends being secured to a pair of pulleys h which are mounted on a shaft b <1> driven by an electric or other motor. The sprockets f, g are mounted on shafts b to which wipercarrying arms a are attached. The tension of the chain i is maintained by a spring j, the extensibility of which is limited by a wire k.
