June 27, 1932, No. 18142. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 28, 1932]. [Class 38 (ii).] The voltage given by a polyphase transformer with tapped windings is changed, both as regards magnitude and phase, by arranging the tapping points to serve as interlinking points of different phases. Two arrangements for producing negative and positive phase displacements are shown in Figs. 3 and 5 respectively, as applied to the high or low tension windings of an output transformer. In these arrangements, corresponding tappings on the windings are interconnected, as shown, and the terminal connections are made at the points U, V and W. Autotransformer connections are also described.
