Divided on 405,977 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 20, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] Destruction of the cathode of a Braun tube due to ionic bombardment is prevented by a metallic ring- shaped screen 14 attracting the ions and provided on the outside of the Wehnelt cylinder 6 surrounding the cathode 5. A perforated shutter 11 may be arranged inside, and connected to, the cylinder 6. The cathode may be an indirectly-heated emissive cup near the shutter 11.
