Abstract

<PICT:0404201/III/1> <PICT:0404201/III/2> The cover b of a vessel a, particularly a "deaerating" or cooling vessel for milk &c., has a contracted curved neck portion c with an outer flange or flared part f in which numerous long narrow openings k are formed for egress of vapours evolved and ingress of air. It is completed by a cap g, preferably removable, which is preferably formed with a depending curved projection i to promote the flow of vapour and air towards the openings k. The cap and cover may be of different metals and the space in the cap be formed as an electric cell, as shown in Fig. 7, with a carbon rod m contacting with conducting wires o across the cover so as to charge the two metals oppositely whereby the cover acts as a dust collector and filter.
