Abstract
375,114. Vacuum-jacketed vessels. LOCKYER, E. G. F., 12, Buchanan Buildings, Holborn, London. Nov. 14, 1931, No. 21847. [Class 29.] A vessel suitable for holding solid meals comprises a deep vacuum-jacketed glass container 1 of substantially uniform internal diameter and formed with an external shoulder 4 near the mouth, asbestos or other soft insulation 5 being interposed between the container and an outer metal casing 3, which has an inturned upper rim 3<x> engaging over the shoulder. A removable base 6 fitted with a cork, felt or like pad 8 is secured to the casing by screws 7 and a cover or lid 10 with a cork or other lining 11 is secured over the casing by a bayonet or similar joint 12. A bail handle 13 may be secured to cleats 14 in the depending flange of the cover, as in Fig. 1, or in a recess in the top of the lid, as in Fig. 3.
