Jackets.-A heat-retaining ring or jacket for a saucepan or other heating or cooking vessel 2 is formed with an outer wall 1<11>, Figs. 3 and 6, merging into the lower edge of the ring wall 1<1> and forming with it an open,topped annular space adapted to be filled with water to prevent the burning of the jacket. The upper edge of the inner wall may be beaded or flanged to support the edge of the vessel 2. The jacket is provided with a handle 4.
