[Class 66.] The domed lid of a kettle, saucepan, &c. is formed with steam escape openings E extending half-way around the circumference of the upper part of the depending flange. A rib H or a series of hoods may be arranged above the openings to direct the steam outwardly, and an internal flange may be provided below them to prevent water from bubbling out. Openings G may be provided in the part of the flange within the vessel.
