Abstract
625,312. Lids of saucepans. MARELLI, L., and FELISAZ, G. April 3, 1947, No. 9188. Convention date, April 8, 1946. [Class 66] A lid for a larger or a smaller saucepan, 1 or 2, is stepped at 8 to form a trough to receive liquid boiling out of the saucepan through a central opening 13 covered by a cupped disc 4 with a peripheral flange which is recessed at 10 to give hit-or-miss covering of corresponding recesses 9 in the edge of the opening 13. If the disc 4, turned by a knob 5, closes the recesses 9, pressure in the saucepan raises the disc 4 until it is stopped by an encircling wire 6 with inturned ends 12. The knob 5 also serves as a handle for raising the lid.
