[Class 39(iii)] The subject-matter in this Specification is similar to that described and claimed in Specification 642,290, which is referred to. In the present Specification the immersion heater is provided with a spring member which bears against the lid of the kettle when the immersion heater is within the kettle, and engages the cover portion of the kettle when the heater is used as a hotplate.
