Abstract

481,169. Milking-pails &c. LEA, F. J. Sept. 5, 1936, No. 24309. [Class 66] A milking-pail, milk can, kettle, saucepan, ' or other vessel is provided with a fixed or removable domed top 4 formed with an opening 5, and a vertically pivoted cover part 10 rotatable over the top and formed within a correspondingly shaped opening 12, the cover having a complete circular rim 11 bearing on a corresponding rim such as 8 provided at the top of the vessel. In the construction shown the top 4 is removable and is formed with a flange 3 fitting inside the mouth of the vessel, and the cover is removably attached to the top by a bifurcated spring member 16 carried by a knob 14 and engaging a tubular socket 9 depending from the top portion. The top may be formed with channels 18 adapted to lead rain water &c. to the flange 8.
