[Class 66] The mouth opening of a kettle or like vessel is surrounded by an inverted annular channel 5 of which the outer wall 4 is provided, at the part remote from the spout, with perforations 9 for the escape of steam. The lower edge of the flange 2 within which the lid fits may be flared outwardly to provide a baffle 10 to prevent egress of boiling liquid.
