Abstract

265,782. Bayly, P. Feb. 18. 1926. Saucepans; cooking vessels.-A device adapted to be fitted to the mouth of a saucepan or other cooking vessel to prevent vegetables &c. from boiling over comprises a ring- shaped part 1 having a bead &c. at 6 to engage the rim of the vessel and provided with a base 2 formed with one or more openings 3 each surrounded by a sloping lip 4. The upper end of the device is adapted to take the saucepan lid 10. The device may have an internal annular lip 11, Figs. 3 and 4, to prevent spitting and return condensed steam to the pan. The form shown in Fig. 4 has a conical wall 8 adapting it for use with pans of various sizes.
