Abstract
374,140. Boiling-pans. KEECH, A.D., Bechstein Hall, Brook Street, London. March 5, 1931, No. 6929. [Class 64 (i).] A vessel for treating liquids in culinary, chemical, brewing, or laundry operations is provided with a removable inner member resting on a shoulder of the vessel and forming therewith an open gallery or channel 4 and a passage 6 connecting the gallery with the lower liquidcontaining part of the vessel, so that boiledover liquid contents are collected and returned to the vessel. In the form shown in Fig. 2, which shows a culinary vessel having the parts suitably arranged for cooking vegetables, the member 8 is of cylindrical form, the upper end being formed with slots 10 and fitted with a lid 11 ; for other cooking processes the lid would be removed and the inner member inverted. The upper part of the inner member may, as in the milk boiling vessel shown in Fig. 3, be formed as an inwardly and upwardly curved surface 13, and an outwardly extending lip 14 may be provided at the lower end to restrict the passage 6. The removable inner member is provided with pressed-out ribs 9 to serve as spacing members and may be formed with grooves, flutings, &c. to promote the flow of the liquid.
