Abstract

Lids and covers.-A device which forms a cover for a vessel into which liquid is being filtered or transferred and at the same time serves to support a filter funnel or like appliance comprises a single disc a which is shaped on its underside to fit the upper edge of the vessel d and is provided with a central aperture i adapted to receive the tubular portion of the funnel. To allow the appliance to be used with vessels of different sizes the disc may be provided on its underside with a plurality of grooves and ribs, and the outermost rib c is preferably made deeper than the others to prevent contamination of the appliance when not in use. The ribs may be interrupted, as at f, to accommodate the spout of the vessel. The upper surface of the disc is preferably made with a slight downward slope from the centre outwards. The appliance is intended for use with laboratory apparatus.
