Abstract

402,519. Endless - belt conveyers. MAVOR & COULSON, Ltd., and THOMSON, J., 47, Broad Street, Mile End, Glasgow. July 5, 1932, No. 19005. [Class 78 (i).] Belt conveyers, particularly for use in mines, are so arranged that after the belt has reached a head of normal kird embodying a drum or drums of relatively large diameter and has passed round the drum or drums, it is extended forwardly to an auxiliary head which can operate with less head room. The auxiliary head may be angularly adjustable about a horizontal axis. The belt 4 after passing round the drums 2, 3 as indicated by the arrows, continues over supporting rolls 5 and passes round a small drum 10 at the end of a carrier which may be angularly adjusted about a pivot 6 by screwed rods 8 and a nut 9. The portion 1 of the belt receives material discharged from the portion 4. Side confining-plates are mounted on the carrier which supports the auxiliary portion 1 of the conveyer.
