Abstract

556,047. Feeding to conveyers. SPENCER (MELKSHAM), Ltd., and PADFIELD, W. W. April 2, 1942, No. 4420. [Class 78 (i)] A shoot c located below a hopper a so as to be inclined in either direction at will for feeding material to a conveyer b capable of being reversed in direction of travel, is provided with means whereby it is continuously jigged. The shoot c may be suspended by pivoted links d, h, the link d being adjustable in length and swinging from a pivot e<SP>1</SP> on the hopper a for pivotal connection at a point c<SP>2</SP> near the middle of the shoot c. The link h pivots on a bracket i and is slotted to receive a slidable pivot bolt k whereby the shoot can be held tipped in either forward or rearward direction. Alternatively the shoot may be supported on rollers which allow of change of inclination and tipping in either direction. The means for jigging the shoot may consist of a crank pin connected by a link f to an arm e rigidly secured to the link d. The crank disc g may be made with variable throws.
