370,162. Endless belt and chain conveyers. MAYOR & COULSON, Ltd., MAVOR, J. B., and THOMSON, J., 47, Broad Street, Mile End, Glasgow. March 16, 1931, No. 7977. [Class 78 (i).] ' Portable conveyer apparatus for handling loose material such as coal comprises a wheeled carriage 2 and endless chain, belt, or scraper type conveyers 4, 6, each of which can be luffed and slued. The conveyer 4 is supported by flexible means 8 and can turn about a horizontal axis 5. It can turn also about a vertical axis A, Fig. 4, and delivers into a hopper 10 which discharges on to the conveyer 6. The latter conveyer is supported by flexible means 9, and can turn about a horizontal axis 7 and the vertical axis A. A motor 11 mounted on the framework 3 drives the conveyer 4 through a shaft 12, gears 13, 14, chain-andsprocket gearing 15, 21, 20, a shaft 18 and bevel gears 19, 16. The same motor drives the conveyer 6 through the shaft 12, gears 13, 14, 26, a shaft 24 and bevel gears 25, 22.
